Hi, welcome to Simply Ballin!

My name is John and you can find more about me on my personal Substack here, where it's my personal portfolio and everything outside of basketball. This page, however, is everything about basketball and nothing else.

I set up the Simply Ballin website over three years ago as a way to have some kind of platform to publish all of my basketball words. At this point, it just didn't make sense to continue to have it as a separate website.

That's why I moved all of the content to Simply Ballin Substack. That is where I'm building all of this. It's the Substack and the YouTube channel. What you're seeing here on Medium, is all of the work across different platforms and mediums all in one place.

So, I've been following the NBA since around 2015, but it wasn't until 2018 that I started to create basketball content. It started off with writing blogs on a mobile platform called Hardwood Amino. With my passion for writing about basketball growing, I later transitioned into writing for All U Can Heat and Hoops Habit where I covered the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers.

Then at the end of 2021, I made a decision to take this basketball content creation seriously and end up wanting this to turn into my career. Since then, I've been covering the Miami Heat extensively. That's when I started doing game breakdowns on Twitter, writing for Hot Hot Hoops, Miami Heat Beat, and back at All U Can Heat

So, this is where we're at. This Medium site will serve as my portfolio for all of the various work I'm doing wherever I'm doing. It's to keep everything in one place to eventually build a massive place filled with all of my work.
